The Challenge

Synthesis Labs had built a powerful research data platform used by scientists globally, but the interface had become a barrier to adoption. Researchers spent more time learning the tool than extracting insights. The platform needed to make dense scientific data intuitive without dumbing down the complexity that power users required.

Our Approach

We embedded with the Synthesis Labs team for three months, working alongside researchers to understand their mental models and workflows. Our design approach centered on progressive complexity — simple default views with layered access to advanced features.

The Outcome
